PhoneCallFor.me is now listed in the MCP Registry as me.phonecallfor/phone-agent, version 1.0.0, published on August 8, 2026. The registry is the official catalog of MCP servers, maintained with backing from Anthropic, GitHub, PulseMCP, and Microsoft. Our namespace is verified through DNS ownership of phonecallfor.me, which is the registry's way of confirming that the listing comes from the people who actually run the domain.
That is the announcement. Here is the part that matters to you: you can connect PhoneCallFor.me directly to Claude, and then ask for a phone call in the same plain language you would use for anything else. No copying numbers into a separate web app, no switching tabs. You describe the call you want made, and it gets made.
MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is simply a shared standard that lets AI assistants talk to outside services. You do not need to understand it beyond that. It is the reason the setup below takes about a minute.
Connect it to Claude
You will need a PhoneCallFor.me account and a credit balance before a call will go through, so it is worth signing in and topping up first. Then, in Claude:
- Open Customize and go to Connectors.
- Click the + next to Connectors, then choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the server URL:
https://phonecallfor.me/mcp - Complete the sign-in prompt. You will be sent to PhoneCallFor.me to log in with Google or Apple and approve access, then returned to Claude.
That is the whole setup. There is no API key to generate and nothing to paste besides the URL — the connection uses OAuth, so you sign in the same way you would anywhere else, and you can disconnect it from the same settings screen whenever you want.
Custom connectors are available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, though free accounts can connect only one. Once the connection is approved, six tools become available to Claude: start_call, get_call_status, end_call, get_call_history, get_balance, and buy_credits. You will never call these by name — Claude picks the right one from what you ask for — but it is worth knowing what is there.
Other MCP clients
Claude is not the only option. Any client that supports remote MCP servers over streamable HTTP can connect to the same endpoint, https://phonecallfor.me/mcp, with the same OAuth sign-in. The setup steps differ from app to app, but the URL does not change.
Registry listings also propagate to downstream catalogs, including Smithery, PulseMCP, Docker Hub, and the GitHub MCP registry — which is where it surfaces in VS Code under @mcp. If you already browse one of those, you may find it there rather than adding the URL by hand.
What you can ask for once it is connected
The point of connecting it to an assistant is that you stop filling in forms and just say what you want. A few examples of how people actually phrase it:
"Call Giuseppe's on Fifth and get a table for four at seven on Friday. If seven is gone, anything between six thirty and eight is fine."
"Call my dentist and ask whether they are open on Saturday and whether they take walk-ins."
"Call the pharmacy on Elm and find out if my prescription is ready to pick up. My name is Dana Whitfield."
"Call the cable company and cancel my account — the number is 4471-882. Decline any retention offers."
Give it whatever context the person on the other end will need: a name, an account number, a date range, what a good outcome looks like. While the call runs, you can ask what is happening and get the current status and recent lines from the transcript. When it ends, you get a summary of what was said and what was agreed. Credits are one per minute, rounded up.
Every call says it is an AI
As soon as a person answers, the agent identifies itself as an AI calling on your behalf and says the call is being transcribed, which gives the other party a chance to decline before the conversation goes any further. If they ask it to stop, it says goodbye and hangs up. If they ask directly whether they are talking to a human, it answers honestly.
This is enforced on our side, not by the assistant. It is part of the instructions the calling agent runs under, and it cannot be removed or overridden — not by you, not by Claude, and not by anything written into the description of the task.
On TCPA compliance: under the law, you are the caller and PhoneCallFor.me is infrastructure acting on your instruction, much like a phone company. That means the service is for calls you have a legitimate reason to make — booking, cancelling, asking a question, sorting out a bill. It is not for telemarketing, robocalling, political calls, or debt collection, and requests along those lines are screened out before a call is placed. US numbers only
Calls can only be placed to US numbers at the moment — anything else is rejected before dialling.
